About Acnestar 2.5% Soap

Acnestar 2.5% soap is a deep cleansing bar contains benzoyl peroxide 2.5%. Benzoyl peroxide treats acne in three ways: by killing bacteria, peeling away dead skin cells and drying excess skin oil. It is most effective in getting rid of the dirt accumulated to clear up the pores. Benzoyl peroxide works as a peeling agent. It increases skin turnover, clearing pores and reducing the bacterial count (specifically acnes) as well as acting directly as an antimicrobial.

How to Use Acnestar 2.5% Soap

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Is for external use only
  • Should be used twice daily to cover the affected skin areas
  • Wet the area to be treated
  • Wash hands before use and place a small amount of ACNESTAR 2.5% on to the hands to wash the affected area
  • Contact time with the skin should be 1 to 2 minutes followed by thorough rinsing with water and drying
  • Avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, angles of the nose or other very sensitive areas of the body

 

Side Effect

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them,

  • Itching of the skin (pruritus)
  • Pain, stinging
  • Skin irritation (irritant contact dermatitis)
  • Dry skin
  • Skin redness
  • Peeling of the skin
  • Allergic contact dermatitis

 

Interaction

Tell your doctor, if you are using,

  • Other acne medicines containing tretinoin, isotretinoin or tazarotene
  • Sulphonamide containing products such as dapsone and sulfacetamide

 

Precaution

Talk to your doctor before using ACNESTAR 2.5%, If you,

  • Are allergic to Benzoyl Peroxide or any of the other ingredients of this ACNESTAR 2.5%
  • If you are pregnant or may be pregnant or are breast-feeding, do not use ACNESTAR 2.5% unless your doctor has told you that you can
  • Do not apply ACNESTAR 2.5% onto your breast, if you are breast feeding
  • Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine

 

Storage 

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
